Warsaw, now 12-6, will compete in the Northern Lakes Conference Tournament on Saturday at the Pretty Lake Golf Club in Plymouth. The Tigers, who currently are tied for second in the NLC, begin play at 10:40 a.m.
“We feel confident heading into the NLC Tournament,” said Warsaw coach Tad Nieter. “We are becoming more and more consistent not just with our scores, but with each facet of our team’s game. We are close to having a break through round that could propel us to the next tier of our potential. As long as we stay within ourselves, we will be just fine.”
The Warsaw junior varsity shot 212 Thursday. Anna Morgan and Valerie Messmore each had 51 to pace the JV unit. Julia Hildebrand had a 53, with Brooklyn Fitzgerald at 57 and Cassidy Good at 58.
Boys Tennis
The Warsaw boys tennis team dropped a 5-0 final to a strong Fort Wayne Canterbury squad.
The closest match of the night came at No. 2 doubles. The Canterbury team of Peter Kent and Quintin Williams outlasted Nolan Knight and Reuben Williams 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-3.
Canterbury won in straight sets on all three singles courts.
Nish Reddy led the way with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Colton Lind at No. 1 singles play. Shaun Patel topped Kyler Bartol 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Dhillon Patel beat Caleb Williams 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

Warsaw hosts its own invitational Saturday. The eight-team event begins at 9 a.m.
Girls Soccer
The Warsaw girls soccer team suffered its first conference loss of the season with a 2-1 setback to Concord.
The host Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference match and could not recover in time.
Concord led 1-0 at halftime and made it 2-0 late in the second half en route to the NLC victory.
Brenna Buhrt scored the lone goal for Warsaw, which had posted four straight shutouts in league play.
Anna Grill picked up the assist on the only score for the Tigers.
“Our lack of discipline got the best of us tonight, which led to opportunities for our opponent,” said Warsaw coach Jon Hoover. “We weren’t as sharp as we should have been, and in our conference, you can’t create chances for your opponent without getting burned. Our team fought hard to the end. We had several chances to either tie or win the game. Their keeper had 16 saves. We should have done better putting the ball into the corners while shooting (not counting Buhrt’s goal). Brenna Burht’s goal was one of the prettiest shots I’ve seen for a while. We’re going to take this loss and allow it to refine us as a team, and we’ll need to do it quickly because we have a very talented Noblesville team coming to town Saturday.”
Warsaw, which is ranked No. 17 in the latest Class 3-A poll, drops to 6-3-1 overall and goes to 4-1 in NLC action.
Warsaw won the junior varsity game 1-0 to improve to 2-4-1 overall and move to 2-2-1 in NLC play. Sarah O’cock scored the only goal in the contest for the Tigers.
Warsaw hosts Noblesville Saturday afternoon.

The quartet of Adamiec, Zeek Reed, William Wells and Austin Bays led the defense, which stopped the Rockies on a two-point conversion try to seal the win.
