The Christian Academies from Elkhart and Lakeland met up Tuesday and waged an epic battle on the soccer pitch in the shadows of the US 20 Bypass.
LCA and ECA were all square at two after a half of play, Parker Stewart with both goals for the Cougars, both assisted by Theran McKeever. The ECA equalizer tough for LCA after coming moments after Stewart slotted home his second tally, and just seconds before the half.
The game would stay square until five minutes before time when ECA was able to take the lead on a low whistler that was good enough for the victory.
LCA (2-5) won the shots on goal battle, 8-6, while creating 14 shots overall. Cougar keeper Remington Swanson made three saves.
