Dennis L. Miller, 71, Leesburg, died at 3:05 a.m., Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Avalon Village, Ligonier. He had  been a resident there for three years battling Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born May 7, 1946 in Warsaw to Arther Clayton and Laura Jane (Brumbaugh) Miller.

Mr. Miller was a 1964 graduate of Nappanee High School and a graduate of Purdue University. His first marriage was to Jan Mohler, she preceded him in death. On May 19, 2006, he married Carol Hamsher Ammerman. Dennis was a fan of baseball. He worked at AK Steel for 35 years.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Ammerman Miller; son, Dennis Scott Miller, Missoula, Mont.; stepson, Carter Robert (Abby) Ammerman, Shipshewana; grandson, Mathew Miller; sister, Sharon Dohner, Nappanee; neice, Jody Miller, Nappanee, nephews, Kerry  Dohner, Bourbon and David Dohner, Warsaw.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a grandson, Ethan Miller.

Family and friends may call from 10 – 1, Saturday, Sept. 9 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee followed by funeral services at 1 pm.  Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
