Rick A. Norman, 60, Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away, Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at his home.

In Fulton County on May 28, 1957, Richard Allan Norman was born. He was a treasured son of Roy L. and Phyllis A. Van Lue Norman. Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters Linda and Deb and a brother Tim. With great Zebra pride he graduated from Rochester High School with the Class of 1975. Patriotism beckoned, Rick answered the call serving with the United States Air Force from 1975 until he was honorably discharged in August of 1979.

On March 27, 1982, in Rochester, Rick married the love of his life Bonnie Hinson. From their union came three beautiful daughters. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of four grandchildren with another due to arrive this December.

Talented and knowledgeable with electronics, Rick teamed with his Dad Roy at Norman’s TV. He assumed full ownership of the business from 1997 – 2014. In 2003 he began working with the Rapid-View team and worked until recently making certain their cameras and technology divisions ran smoothly.

As an armchair athlete, Rick was always tuned in to Indiana University basketball, autumn brought on Notre Dame football. He also cheered wildly for Oakland’s teams the Raiders and the Athletics. He nearly mastered his PlayStation 4 and relaxed listening to Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

Country Lanes was Rick’s favorite place to let the good times roll. He possessed great finesse at the local golf courses with his driving game as well as putting the ball in for a birdy. Rick enjoyed fishing trips with his family to Minnesota, Canada and Mississinewa as well as favorite lesser known locales around the area with friends. Summer brought on mowing season, Rick was proud to be perched upon his John Deere rider, manicuring his yard to perfection. Paramount in his life was his family. He looked forward to celebrating birthdays and special events with his family as well as the holidays and the memories he made with his grandchildren.
