Roscoe Weaver, 92, formerly of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died at 11:55 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born May 11, 1925 in LaFontaine, Ind. to Ernest and Kitty Belle (Ellers) Weaver.

Roscoe was a LaFontaine High School graduate and a US Army veteran serving during WWII. He married Mercedes JoAnne Weaver in Richvalley, Ind. on September 30, 1950; she died August 9, 2016.

He retired from General Tire in Wabash, and was a member of the St. Peters United Church of Christ in Urbana. Roscoe enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, working with horses, and collecting coins, pocket knives, and guns.

He is survived by three sons, David (Jackie) Weaver of Roann, Douglas (Julie) Weaver of Elkhart, Ind., and Dean (Terri) Weaver of North Manchester; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and his brother, Donald (Ida Mae) Weaver of Speicherville, Ind.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell and Richard Weaver, two sisters, Ruth Miller, and Marjorie Yancey, half brother Carl Benbow, and his great-granddaughter, Olivia Weaver.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at St. Peters United Church of Christ, in Urbana, with Rev. Larry Wade officiating. Burial will be in Half Acre Cemetery, Urbana. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash.
