SYRACUSE — Units from the Turkey Creek Fire Territory and Northern Indiana Public Service Company responded to a downed power line at 6969 E. Eli Lily Road, Syracuse, at approximately 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25. No injuries were reported.

The lines were pulled down by an Apex Tree Service truck attempting to reach a lakeside residence. Although the crew had used the route several times, in this instance an employee violated company policy by staying in the truck instead of acting as a spotter. According to a company representative, the employee was let go for violating the policy.
