
SYRACUSE — Charges have been filed against Gil Fabian Rodriquez, 24, 201 E. Baltimore St., Syracuse, in Kosciusko Superior Court 1. Rodriquez, booked with the last name of Rodriguez, has officially been charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; pointing a firearm, level 6 felony; and carrying a handgun without a license, a class A misdemeanor.
He was booked Sunday, Aug. 20, and held on $10,250 surety and cash bond.
According to court documents police responded to a call regarding a male firing several shots into the air with a handgun. Police spoke with Phillip Cusic who stated he confronted Rodriquez regarding to Rodriquez possibly being responsible for breaking a vehicle window. An argument started and Rodriquez removed a semi-automatic handgun from his waistband, but held it at his side.
Cusic further told police Rodriquez entered a vehicle, drove out of the driveway, onto the road and parked. He then held the handgun outside the window and pointed it toward the sky, discharging approximately five rounds. Six people were gathered in a group about 30 yards away at this time.
Rodriquez stated when confronted by Cusic, he felt it was in an aggressive manner and pulled up his shirt to display the handgun he was carrying. He stated Cusic would not back off, so he removed the handgun, chambered a cartridge and pointed it at Cusic, telling him he would shoot him. Rodriquez further stated when he was driving away, Cusic began to run after him, so he fired several rounds out the window into the air.
