NorthWood SportsGirls Golf

Madison Richner led the way as the NorthWood girls golf team won its conference opener.

Richner earned medalist honors with a 43 as the Panthers outshot host Concord 180-208 at the Bent Oak Golf Club in Elkhart in Northern Lakes Conference play.

Mackenzie Weaver came in with a 44 and Mckenna Gall a 45 for the winners. Abby Slabaugh had a 48 and Kylee Gall a 55 for the Panthers, who improve to 2-0 overall.

Lauren Bressler led Concord with a 48.

NorthWood won the junior varsity match 201-255. Abigail Richner led the winners with a 47. Delaney Davis shot a 49, while Hope Cripe had a 51 and Kirsten Schlock a 54 for the Panther JV squad.

NorthWood returns to NLC action versus host Wawasee and Northridge on Thursday at South Shore in Syracuse.

 

Volleyball

Kennedy Wiens powered the NorthWood volleyball team past Fairfield 3-0.

Wiens slammed a team-high 11 kills as the Panthers topped the host Falcons 25-23, 25-18, 25-22 in non-conference play.

Maddy Payne had nine kills and Haylee Pennington eight for the Panthers. The trio of Wiens, Courtney Lengacher and Whitney Gessinger each had one ace.

Lengacher had 11 digs and Gessinger eight for the winners. Lengacher had 31 assists.

NorthWood won the junior varsity match 25-18, 25-6. Kate Rulli had six kills and Carolin Mullet five kills and 12 assists to pace NorthWood.

NorthWood plays at Rochester Thursday night.

 

Girls Soccer

Avery Bontrager booted home two goals to pace the NorthWood girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over host Westview.

Kali Parisi added a goal for the Panthers and Cindy Barahona had an assist in the win.

NorthWood outshot the Warriors 12-5 and each team had two corner kicks.

Kira Robinson notched the shutout in goal with five saves for the Panthers.

NorthWood improves to 3-0, while Westview falls to 1-1.

NorthWood won the junior varsity match 7-2.

NorthWood hosts Warsaw in its Northern Lakes Conference opener Thursday night.
