
Bonita D. Cervantes, Syracuse, and formerly of Wabash, passed away at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne at the age of 66.
She was born on March 21, 1951 in Wabash to Agnes (Sleighter) and Dale Brown. She was married to Abel Cervantes March 13, 1979, who survives.
Bonita was a 1969 graduate of Wabash High School. She was a homemaker and was a self-employed day-care provider. She took care of many children over the years at “Bonnie’s,” and very much enjoyed it. She was a member of Wawasee Community Bible Church in Milford. Bonita will be dearly missed by all of her friends and family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Abel Cervantes, Syrcause; three sons: Charles (wife Rose) Brown, Warsaw; Andres (wife Deborah) Cervantes, Syracuse; and Daniel (wife Leah) Cervantes, Greensburg. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Samantha (husband Kyle) Justice; Bethany (husband Bryan) Chaney; Jordan Brown; Nia Cervantes; Alixandria Cervantes; Dante Cervantes; one great-grandchild: Cheyanne Chaney; and her sister: Susie Rodgers (Robbie See), Leesburg). She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. prior, at Wawasee Community Bible Church, 2035 E. 1300 N., Milford and officiated by Pastor Joshua Weiland. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, Indiana.
