Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
10:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, CR 500W, north of CR 1100N, Nappanee. Driver: Debra S. Hoke, 54, North CR 500W, Milford. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, North SR 15 and West CR 400N, Warsaw. Drivers: Tristin L. Brown, 31, Country Club Road, Warsaw, and Bryan D. Hernandez, 18, St. Mary’s Drive, Warsaw. Brown’s vehicle struck the back of the Hernandez vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
1:37 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, West CR 1000S, west of CR 1200W, Akron. Driver: Christian J. Baca, 18, North CR 700E, Rochester. Baca overcompensated after the vehicle went off the roadway, causing it to roll over on the passenger side. Damage up to $10,000.
7:11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, West CR 200S and South SR 25, Warsaw. Driver: Hannah H. Sikora, 17, North First Street, Pierceton. Sikora was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital after complaining of dizziness. Sikora was westbound on CR 200S and crossed SR 25 when another vehicle hit the passenger side of her vehicle. She told police two individuals exited the other vehicle and began yelling at her, then got back into their vehicle and left. A witness was able to give police the license plate. Police report the other vehicle is registered to Princess M. Rodriguez-Han, South Bend. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:21 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, North Crete Drive, north of North Santorini Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Everett Thornsbury, 77, North Hartzler Street, Warsaw. Due to brake failure, Thornsbury’s vehicle went through a T intersection hitting a stop sign and road signs. Damage up to $5,000.
10:23 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, South Detroit Street and East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Cameron D. Parker, 16, West SR 14, Silver Lake, and Monica M. Conde, 37, Eisenhower Parkway, Warsaw. Parker refused medical treatment at the scene and would take her passengers to the hospital to be checked. A passenger in Conde’s vehicle, Mariana Conde, 11, complained of pain to the head, but refused medical treatment. Parker did not see the Conde vehicle stopped in front of him and struck the back of the vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
4:46 pm. Saturday, Aug. 19, North SR 15 and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kendra N. Greene, 16, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw; Sandra L. Leiter, 66, East CR 450N, Leesburg; and Vianca V. Martinez, 26, East Water Street, Akron. Greene, Leiter and a passenger in Greene’s vehicle, Danica W. Masterson, 16, Herscher Drive, Warsaw, were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for complaints of pain. Greene entered the intersection from CR 250N, intending to turn south onto SR 15, and turned in front of the Leiter vehicle, causing the Leiter vehicle to hit the right side of the Greene vehicle. The impact with the Greene vehicle caused it to then strike the stopped Martinez vehicle. Damage up to $50,000
4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, US 30, west of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Timothy A. Whiteman, 42, Mateo Drive, Fort Wayne, and Bruce M. Cornell, 40, Galapagos Court, Fort Wayne. Whiteman attempted to avoid hitting the back of the stopped Cornell vehicle and swerved to the left, with the right front corner of his vehicle hitting the back of the Cornell vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
5:16 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, US 30, east of Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Eidan Munoz, 26, East Taylor Street, Columbia City; David Nowlin, 36, Papillon Avenue, Reynoldsurg, Ohio; and Jules Ballard, 33, Park View Place, Castle Rock, Colo. The Munoz vehicle struck the back of the Nowlin vehicle which was stopped in traffic. The impact then caused the Nowlin vehicle to hit the back of the Ballard vehicle. Damage up to $50,000.
1:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, Mariners Drive, Warsaw. The operator of a vehicle registered to Youth and Family Services, Illinois Road, Fort Wayne, reported parking the vehicle and upon returning discovering damage to the right front corner. Damage up to $2,500.
