Kathleen “Katie” Mae Shively, 95, Leesburg, died in her home on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017.

She was born Jan. 6, 1922 in Leesburg to Lester and Emmel Dye. On May 2, 1943, she married Max Eldon Shively, who died July 17, 2005; they were married 62 years.

Katie was a lifetime area resident, a homemaker, and a farm wife. She was a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren in Milford where she taught Sunday School for the little children. She was also a member of Tippy Lee Home Ec. Club of Leesburg and she liked to paint.

Kathleen is survived by two sons, Dennis (Candy) Shively of Leesburg; and Douglas Shively of Longview, Texas; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Shively; a sister, Geraldine Schaaf; and a brother, Dwayne Dye.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, at New Salem Church of the Brethren, Milford. Pastor Bob Rice and Pastor Tim Yoder will officiate with burial following in Leesburg Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting with arrangements.
