Warsaw Soccer: Tigers Fit To Be Tied In Opener

Warsaw SportsWARSAW – The Warsaw boys soccer team played Carroll to a stalemate Saturday.

The host Tigers and the Chargers, who were ranked No. 18 in the Class 3-A preseason poll, ended the match in a 0-0 deadlock in the season opener for both teams.

Warsaw won the junior varsity contest 2-1. Ethan Grill and Dayne Koontz each had a goal and Eliud Mejia picked up an assist for the winners.

Carroll took the C team game by a 2-1 final. Izayiah Jimenez tallied a goal for the Tigers.

Warsaw (0-0-1) hosts Argos Tuesday night. The Dragons are ranked No. 2 in Class 1-A.
