Warsaw Council Hears Budget Requests From Local Non-Profits

WARSAW — Local non-profits presented their funding requests to the Warsaw Common Council on Monday, Aug. 7. Each representative was given a few short moments to share the nonprofit’s impact in the community and explain their yearly funding request.

Budget requests were:

  • Animal Welfare League — $20,000
  • City-County Athletic Complex — $31,000
  • Housing Opportunities of Warsaw — $7,000
  • KABS — $19,055 along with $10,000 to replace a vehicle
  • Kosciusko Community Senior Services — $20,000
  • Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation — $55,000 along with $5,000 for Northeast Regional Fee
  • Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams — $20,000
  • The Beaman Home — $15,000
  • Warsaw Community Development Corporation — $18,000
  • Warsaw Community Development Corporation – Facade Program — $25,000
  • Warsaw Housing Authority — $35,000

The next budget meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Aug. 21 where department heads will present their budgets. The budget adoption’s first meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2 with the final reading taking place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16.
