SOUTH BEND — The South Shore Line is offering free rides for educators this week.

They say it is all to show appreciation and to allow teachers to have one final getaway before starting class.

The deal is valid Monday through Sunday on all off-peak and weekend trains. Details can be found here.

They are also offering an essay contest where teachers could win a free field trip for their students.
