Vera M. Platt, 79, Warsaw, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born on Jan. 3, 1938 in Vernon, Texas to Harold K. and Vera M. (Martin) Kindt.

She graduated in 1956 from Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Va. and in 1960 from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Ala. On Sept. 1, 1956 in Fort Belvoir, Va. she married Henry N. Platt, who preceded her on Nov. 24, 2008. She moved to Oswego in 1960 from Birmingham, Ala. and retired in March 2006 from Wal-Mart in Warsaw after 17 years.

She was a member of the Bread of Life Church in Goshen.

She is survived by four daughters: Denise (Roger) Wiggs, Syracuse; Christy Platt, Colorado; Grace (Chad) Tener, Leesburg; and Rachel (Brian) Miller, Warsaw; two sons: Kenneth (Katrina) Platt, Warsaw; and Kevin (Karen) Platt, Leesburg; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; mother, Vera Cox, Pipestone, Minn.; two sisters: twin, Johnny (Marvi) Tuinstra, Verndale, Minn; and Annabelle (David) Gilmore, Pipestone, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband, grandson, Kenneth Platt Jr., and great granddaughter, Baylee Rehn Corrao.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 at Leesburg Cemetery with Pastor Tim Neely officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster is in charge of arrangements.
