Verta Dobbs York Scroggins, 98, Winona Lake, died Sunday July 30, 2017, at Grace Village Hospice in Winona Lake.

She was born June 12, 1919 in Monticello, Ky. the daughter of the late Silas and Polly Gregory Dobbs. She attended school in Kentucky and was a housewife, and was a member of Sound The Alarm Church.

Survivors include her children: Rev. Ken (wife Bernice) York, Ron (wife Pat) York, Carolyn (husband Pete) Freeman; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, one grandchild and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Marcum Community Funeral Home. Rev. Ken York will be officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
