NorthWood Golf: Panthers 7th In Jeff Invite
LAFAYETTE – The NorthWood girls golf team continued its busy opening week of the season Tuesday.
The Panthers fired a team score of 357 to place seventh in the final team standings of another strong invitational field, this time an 18-team event hosted by Lafayette Jefferson.
No. 3 Zionsville recorded a 302 to take home top honors from the invite at the Battle Ground Golf Course. No. 8 Lake Central was runner-up at 318 with the No. 18 Panthers in seventh place.
Junior Mackenzie Weaver led the way for NorthWood with a round of 79 on the par 72 layout.
Junior Abby Slabaugh finished with an 89 and senior Madison Richner a 94 for the Panthers. Sophomores Kylee Gall and Makenna Gall shot 95 and 96 respectively for NorthWood.
Alexia Miestowski of Lake Central earned individual medalist honors with a two-under round of 70.
The NorthWood junior varsity contingent shot a 414. Hope Cripe led the way with a 98. Kirsten Schrock shot a 104, while Delaney Davis had a 105 and Abigail Richner a 107 for the JV Panthers.
NorthWood will compete in the Lake Central Invitational Wednesday and is scheduled to play in the Leo Invitational on Thursday.
