WARSAW — The Altrusa International Club of Warsaw is planning a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Culver’s in Warsaw.  Altrusa members will be greeting customers at the door, serving food to the dining room and drive-up, and cleaning tables in the dining room. Altrusa will receive a percentage of the sales during this time period, so they encourage all of their supporters to come and dine that evening.

All proceeds will be used for Altrusa’s many service projects.  The club purchases the front door for every Habitat house in Kosciusko County.  In addition to providing and serving one meal a month to the children at Baker Youth Club, they provide a spring banquet each year for the Grace College Mentors for Kids at Jefferson school. They support a mom in the Project Independence program, by providing some gas and money for her school supplies. The club also has adopted a class at Lincoln school, reading to them weekly, and helping the teacher with extra supplies. This fundraiser helps to support all of those projects and more.

Altrusa is an international non-profit organization, where members are civic-minded, altruistic, women and men who strive to create better communities.

The next meeting for the club is at 5:30 p.m. on ThursdayAug. 3, at Richard’s restaurant. The club is open to new members, so those interested are welcome to attend.
