WARSAW — Megan Colleen Richard, 29, Cromwell, is being charged with theft with a sentence enhancement, a level 6 felony, after stealing a shirt from Meijer.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers with the Warsaw Police Department took a statement from Meijer loss prevention on July 3 regarding events that had taken place on June 22.
Loss prevention advised that on June 22 four individuals entered Meijer, went separate directions and all picked up something and left without paying. One of them, identified as Richard, was seen picking up a red or pink shirt, entering the toy section and then next seen on camera without the shirt. Richard can be seen tucking her shirt in and suddenly having a bulge under her shirt.
According to the affidavit the item Richard is seen with, an Ultra Flirt football jersey, could not be located in the store. The shirt was valued at $11.20.
Richard was previously convicted of conversion on Feb. 23, 2011, in Marshall County.
Richard was also booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on July 16 on a preliminary charge of possession of a syringe for a legend drug. The affidavit of probable cause is currently pending.
