WARSAW — At 3:34 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, Warsaw Fire, Warsaw Police and Lutheran EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Commerce Drive and US 30.

Taylor Gatchel, 20, Burket Street, Columbia City, had stopped at the stop sign at Commerce Drive and US 30 when she saw a semi traveling eastbound. She believed she had enough time to cross the median before the semi crossed Commerce Drive.

Gatchel failed to see Maria Duron, 56, Pierceton Road, Winona Lake, also driving eastbound. Gatchel pulled into the intersection and crashed into Duron. Gatchel’s gray Toyota Camry sustained front end damage.

Duron was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaint of neck and back pain.
