NLC Baseball: Panthers, Raiders Headline All-NLC Selections

GOSHEN – Undefeated NorthWood and runner-up Northridge headline the 2017 Northern Lakes Conference baseball All-NLC selections.
NorthWood, which finished the ledger at 14-0 overall, had Brant Mast, Drake Gongwer, Drew Minnich and Vince Herschberger all chosen All-NLC while Alec Holcomb and Matt Dutkowski were picked Honorable Mention All-NLC and Jay Sheets named Coach of the Year by his peers.
Northridge went 10-4 and were runner-up in the standings. Dylan Trick, Bryce Miller, Nick Hooley and Cody Bible were named All-NLC while Camm Nickell and Mason Troyer were Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Goshen was one game back of Northridge at 9-5 and had Tyler Colpitts, Michael Pinarski and Robby Riegsecker as All-NLC and Charlie Collins as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Elkhart Memorial (7-7) had Justin Walter and Brett Wilson on the First Team, Matt Kloss as Honorable Mention.
Wawasee (6-8) finished fifth and landed Rylan Kuhn and Gavin Barker as All-NLC and Spencer Prescott as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Plymouth (5-9) had Benji Nixon and Cam Dennie named All-NLC and Jeremy Drudge as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Warsaw (4-10) had Alex Miller and Jordan Jones on the First Team, Luke Baker as Honorable Mention while Concord (1-13) had Quinn Miller First Team and Alejandro Heredia as Honorable Mention.
The Northern Lakes Conference noted in Monday’s release the results were mistakenly held longer than planned as they were to have been made public after NorthWood’s exit from the state tournament in mid-June.
