WARSAW – A pair of Warsaw-based baseball teams claimed titles at last weekend’s BPA Super State tournament held at the CCAC.

The 9U and 11U Attack teams housed by the CCAC came out on top of their brackets at the tournament which helps formulate the upcoming BPA World Series in July, which will also be held at the CCAC.

The 9U team were 3-0 in their run, beating the Indiana Heat 12-2, the Landsharks Grey 10-3, and then taking out the Landsharks Blue, 9-7, in the championship game.

The 11U team went 4-0 en route to its title, beginning with a 12-0 win over Renegades, then edging the Michiana Scrappers 7-5 and the Northern Indiana Elite 6-1 to reach the finals. Against the Kendallville Titans in the championship, the Attack came out with an 8-2 victory.

The BPA system is point-based, which has teams earn points based off tournament performance throughout the season. The BPA World Series, which brings in many of the teams that competed in the Super State tournaments, will be held at the CCAC from July 18-23 for the 10U, 11U and 13U age groups. World Series tournaments will also be held in Evansville, Owensboro, Kentucky and Battle Creek, Michigan in July for 9U-14U age groups.
