BERRIEN COUNTY — The Baroda Lake Township Police Department says an officer found 10 1-pound plastic containers filled with meth during a traffic stop.
Officer John Hopkins pulled over a van around 1 p.m. because it had a cracked windshield. Police say the driver — who told the officer he was headed from California to Lansing, Michigan — couldn’t produce insurance or a vehicle registration.
The driver gave permission to search the vehicle, say police, and Hopkins found the meth — estimated to be worth about $150,000.
The driver, a 52 year old from Montana, was booked into Berrien County Jail for possession with intent to deliver crystal meth.
Officer Hopkins said this was the largest meth arrest in his career.
