Eldonna ‘Plantz’ Inks

Eldonna “Plantz” Inks, 98, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Wamplers Senior Center, Inc, in Bourbon.

Donna was born on Aug. 26, 1918, in Rochester, to Fred and Dessie Plantz. Donna married Harold “Spike” Inks on June 15th, 1957.

She worked at a local restaurant, where she met her husband, and at American Optical. Her most cherished memories and time was spent working with the Marshall County Chapter of the American Red ross. She received many Volunteer of the Month and Year Awards; she received her last one at the age of 84. She took pride in heading up many food drives at Christmas time and delivered food boxes to many families, in need. She also spent much of her time painting, creating crafts and making homemade Christmas cards, which she continued to do at Wamplers Senior Center, while she was able. She was also, a huge Cubs Fan. Her grandchildren will always cherish the laughs and witty remarks they shared with their “Grandma Donnie”.

Eldonna is survived by her two grandsons, Brent and Cami Morris of Menomonee Falls, Wisc.; William Morris and Kris Murphy of Rochester; great-grandchildren: Heather and Josh Bradley of Rochester, Drew Morris of Morristown, N.J. and Cole Morris of Philadelphia, Penn.; great-great grandchildren, Kenzie, Kendyll and MaKenna Bradley, all of Rochester; siblings, Millicent Lindborg, Patsy Entzian and Kenneth Plantz; special caretakers at Wampler’s Senior Center, including Becky Wampler and staff.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Harold, daughter, Shirley Morris, grandson Randy Morris, brothers Donald and Robert Plantz and sister Janet Carter.

The family requests memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to the American Red Cross.
