Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
7:29 a.m. Monday, June 12, North SR 13, east of Executive Boulevard, Syracuse. Driver: Nathan J. Lane, 21, Aurora Road, Solon, Ohio. Lane was drowsy and began to serve off the road. When Lane corrected his vehicle, the rear passenger side kicked out and struck a sign. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
8:19 a.m. Monday, June 12, Lake City Highway and East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Jessica L. Villa, 35, Rosemont Avenue, Warsaw, and Emily M. Newton, 18, East Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Villa “did not notice” if the light was green or red and struck Newton’s vehicle in the intersection. Villa is a habitual traffic violator and was transported to Kosciusko County Jail. Damage up to $5,000.
1:41 p.m. Monday, June 12, 1 Tiger Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Julia Cervantes, 39, Dot Street, Warsaw. Cervantes was backing from a parking space at Warsaw High School and hit a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:31 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2403 E. Winona Avenue, Winona Lake. Drivers: James C. Pifer, 21, Willow Lane, Warsaw, and Douglas E. Protzman, 60, EMS B1A Lane, Leesburg. Pifer dropped his credit card in the Dairy Queen drive thru. As he reached down to get it his foot came off the brake and he rear ended Protzman. Damage up to $1,000.
