Phil R. Krider, Sr.
Phil R. Krider, Sr, 90, of South Whitley, died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
He was born March 21, 1927 in Whitley County, Indiana a son of the late Ralph and Vida (Smith) Krider. His formative years were spent in Collins. He completed his schooling at Churubusco High School.
On March 16, 1968 he married Ruth M. Yant. They made their home in rural South Whitley. Ruth died March 3, 2013.
A self-employed businessman, he owned and operated Krider’s Service Station in South Whitley and later Phil’s Bike Shop. He completed his work career with Fox Products, South Whitley.
An accomplished auto mechanic, he also held a private pilot’s license and owned a piper cub.
Surviving are his three children, Nancy McCrossin of Florida, Phil (Sue) Krider of Claypool and Paul Krider of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Trois Phillips, Columbia City and a daughter-in-law, Donna Krider of South Whitley.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Krider, grandson, Isreal Krider and 3 brothers, Joe, Gene and Max Krider.
At the request of Mr. Krider, there will be no visitation or funeral.
