NAPPANEE — The following events will take place at the Nappanee Public Library:

Selfie Station: Beach Science

JUNE 19 – 30 | During Library Hours | All Ages

Share your favorite beach selfie with the library. Come in during library hours to use our props and background to take your best beach selfie. No registration necessary.

Cover to Cover Book Club

June 20 | 6:30-8 p.m.| Adults

The Cover to Cover Book Club alternates between fiction and non-fiction selections. For more information, or to reserve a copy of an upcoming selection, see any service desk, or call (574) 773-7919. In June read the book “The Romanov Sisters: The lost lives of the daughters of Nicholas and Alexander” by Helen Rappaport. No registration is necessary.

Summer Wiggle Wiggle

June 20 | 10-10:30 a.m. | Infants – Preschool

This program is designed to keep little ones moving continuously, so plan a long nap after this fun-filled time of diverse music, dance and plenty of laughter. Registration is requested, but not required.

Summer Preschool Storytime

June 21 | 10-10:45 a.m. | Preschool

Preschool story time focuses on skills like scissors, following instructions and name writing. Come enjoy books and activities found in different cultures. Register by June 14.

Mah Jongg

June 21| 12:30-3 p.m. | Adult

The library is hosting its weekly Mah Jongg game. No experience or registration is necessary, come to learn the game and have fun.

Pinterest Night

June 21 | 6-8 p.m. | Adult

Personalize a custom beach tote during this month’s Pinterest Night. The cost is $5 per project. Register by June 14.

Move and Do: Summer Series

June 22| 10-10:30 a.m. | Infants- Toddlers

Infants and toddlers will love this play-based program geared just for them. Caregivers are asked to register at least one week in advance.

Tween Thursday

June 22| 4-5 p.m. | Tween

Tweens are welcome to join host/instructor Jamie Jones in the cube to make your own henna tattoos. Snacks and materials will be provided. Register by June 15.

Summer Lego Club

June 22 | 6:30-8 p.m. | Age 5+

Lego Club meets at the library. Enjoy peer-judged building challenges and win prizes. Meetings end with free build time.

Family Fun Friday: Everyday Items From the Past

June 23 | 10-11 a.m. | All Ages

The program will excite participants as they will be able to see and guess what items are, learn about their history, and compare them to items are used today. No registration necessary.

Make and Give Monday

June 26 | During Cube Hours | All Ages

Use the library’s  supplies and follow the instructions provided to make a no-sew reusable bag that will be donated to the Family Christian Development Center. No registration necessary.

Teen Tuesday

June 27| 4-5 p.m. | Teen

Come to the library to make beene wafers, a traditional African cookie and African plantain chips. All materials provided. Register by June 20.

Preschool story time focuses on skills like scissors, following instructions and name writing. Come enjoy books and activities found in different cultures. Register by June 21.

Mah Jongg

June 28 | 12:30-3 p.m. | Adult

The library is hosting its regular Mah Jongg game on Wednesdays from 12:30 – 3 p.m. throughout the month of June. No experience or registration is necessary, come to learn the game and have fun.

Book a Librarian

June 29 | 3-6 p.m. | Adult

Our next day to “Book a Librarian” is Thursday, June 29. Schedule a 30-minute appointment with our Library Skills Trainer, Martha Owen. Learn the ins and outs of the library catalog, how to download eBooks to your device, basic computer skills, how to use eMail and more. Call Martha at (574) 773-7812, or email [email protected] to register. Sessions will be held every other Thursday on a regular basis.

Family Fun Friday: The Wonder World of Insects

June 30 | 10-11 a.m. | All Ages

Creepy and crawly, but not so scary. Insects have many benefits and are amazing little creatures. Come to the library to learn more. No registration necessary.
