Sheryl J. “Sheri” Woods, 64, Rochester, passed away at 12:05 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017  at South Bend Hospice House.

On Jan. 29, 1953, Sheryl was born in Rochester. She was a treasured daughter of  Robert Henry and Barbara Pontious Schweir.  Growing up she shared her childhood with a sister Diana.  With great Flyer pride, Sheri graduated with the Akron High School class of 1971.

Left to cherish Sheri’s memory are two sons: Mike Woods and wife Lisa, and Matt Woods and wife Rachel, all of Rochester; granddaughter Ciara Dawn Woods; a sister, Diana Shoemaker and husband Jerry of Akron; two nieces: Angie Hudkins and husband Todd, Kristin Will and husband Adam; and a nephew, Craig Merrill;  as well as her canine companion, Brody a caramel Yorkie.

Preceding Sheryl in death are her parents.

A celebration of the life of Sheryl J. Woods will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. On Saturday, June 17th, at 10 a.m., there will be a graveside service at the Athens-Hoover Cemetery, located on the east edge of Athens.  Pastor Terry Baldwin will officiate.
