
Robert E. Hartman, 87, Warsaw, formerly of Milford, died 3:34 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Warsaw Meadows Care Center. He was born July 5, 1929 in Wakarusa to Clarence and Estella (Leatherman) Hartman. He first married Shirley (Rogers) Hartman and she passed away. On Feb. 27, 1960 Robert married Clara Belle (Welty) Hartman in Goshen.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Belle Hartman, Warsaw; three sons, Dan (Cindy) Hartman, Montana; Brian (Miriam) Hartman, Wakarusa; Keith Hartman, Nappanee; three sisters, Marjorie “Marge” Fisher, Goshen; Violet (Bernard) Weldy, Nappanee; Carol Bontrager, Pennsylvania; a brother, Jerry (Diane) Hartman, Michigan; grandchildren, Kelly Hartman, Montana; and Cassie (Kevin) Ball, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Shirley Hartman, a son, Eddie Hartman, and a brother.
Robert was a factory worker for Mutschler. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Robert loved sports, especially baseball and the Cubs, watching TV, and traveling. He was a member of Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 5 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Nappanee Church of the Brethren, 301 Mack Dr., Nappanee. Pastor Byrl Shaver will officiate. Burial will take place in New Paris Cemetery.
