Richard K. Holloway, 77, of rural Rochester, passed at 7:05 p.m., Friday, May 26, at his residence after being in failing health for 7 years.

He was born on July 11, 1939 in Fulton County to Omer Jack and Hazel (Tilden) Holloway.
He first married on Feb. 21, 1959 in Fulton to Laura Belle Wilson, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2004. He then married Terie Vigar on June 28, 2012 in Rochester, she survives.
Richard farmed, was a timber buyer and also owned and operated his own sawmill for many years in Talma. He retired from Holmes & Company of Columbia City.
He was a member of the former Athens United Methodist Church and also had attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. He enjoyed all kinds of woodworking and could make anything. He also loved mowing grass and watching birds.
Survivors include his wife Terie Holloway, Rochester; son Richard and his wife Lorna Holloway, Rochester; stepdaughters Katina Davis, Peru, Lisa Hernandez, Tippecanoe, Amanda and her husband Chris Clabaugh, Pierceton, and Jessica Davis and Michael Crum, Mentone; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister Carole Feltis, Rochester; brother Marion and his wife Pauline Holloway, Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Laura Belle Wilson Holloway, son Christopher Holloway, brother Kenneth E. Holloway and infant sister Vivian Holloway.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at King Memorial Home, 101 North Tucker St. Mentone. Pastor Wanda Carter will be officiating. A burial will be held at Sycamore Cemetery in Mentone. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
