WCHS Honors Student During Convocation For 13-Year Perfect Attendance Streak

WARSAW — During Warsaw Community High School’s Convocation held Thursday, May 26, many students were given end-of-the-year awards for various accomplishments such as high GPA, going the extra mile and perfect attendance. One student was honored for keeping a record of 13-year perfect attendance.

The following students and staff members were honored during the convocation:

13-Year Perfect Attendance:
Kodi Holle has been a former perfect attendance winner and has won two cars as a student at WCHS in his four years. However, more impressive than that accomplishment is the fact that Kodi has not missed a single day in 13 years of school.

Student GPA 11.0 and higher Cumulative:
9th Grade – Computer winner – Joseph Wilkinson
9th Grade – Shopping sprees – Abigail Keller
10th Grade – Computer winner – Jackson Wolkins
10th Grade – Shopping Sprees – Abigail Doberstein
11th Grade – Computer winner – Kyle Hayward
11th Grade – Shopping Spree – Rachel Smith
12th Grade – Computer winner – Mariah Rivera
12th Grade – Shopping spree – Kyle Christenberry

OrthoWorx Award –  Brynn Durecki – The student chosen for this award has consistently demonstrated good citizenship and overall acceptance of peers regardless of race, culture, religion, socio-economic status, gender, ability/disability level or age.  She embodies both the WCS Mission Statement and Core Values and the Orthoworx Diversity Committee Goals and Objectives

Retirees:

Stan Seiss – Health and PE, CTE, started his WCHS career in 1975. For 42 years Stan has served students and athletes at WCHS. Coach Seiss was one of the top track and cross country coaches in the state in his early years. He and his wife Linda will have more time to spend with their three adult children and six grandchildren.

Diane Quance – Counseling Dept., started her WCHS career in 1995. Throughout that time Mrs. Quance has been a very impactful counselor serving the needs of thousands of students from mental health and wellness needs, to career guidance needs. Mrs. Quance will now have more time for her city council duties and will enjoy having more time for her three adult children and five grandchildren. More traveling will be on the horizon for Mrs. Quance as well.

Principal’s Citizenship Awards: 25 Students were selected from each class by his or her Class Principal. These students have demonstrated positive characteristics, which are represented through appropriate behavior, judgement, morals and character.

Kodi Holle, Sophia Park, Ella Klotz, Kamish Charles, Samuel Bolduc, Lynnea Nelson, Abby Seese, Kimberly Lopez, Maria Rico, Kyra Prater, Payton Green, Eduardo Ruiz, Amsile Howett, Michael Lin, Taryn Whetstone, Chase Prater, Paola Sofia Nieves, Nathan Pollnow, Karen A. Vargas, Katharine Engler , Olivia Reneir  and Jocelyn Vargas.

Nathan Pollnow was the winner of a Chevy Equinox sponsored by Lucky 7 Auto.
