Northridge SportsMIDDLEBURY – The highly-successful Northridge High School swim programs will be entrusted to a familiar face.

Kyle Hembree, a former standout swimmer for the Raiders, has been tabbed as the new boys and girls swim coach.

Hembree, who has been an assistant at Northridge since 2011, replaces Joe Keller. Keller resigned last month to take the coaching position at Fishers High School after an illustrious 26-year run in charge of the Raiders. Keller guided the boys program to 19 straight Northern Lakes Conference championships and 15 sectional titles in a row.  He also directed the Raider ladies to three NLC titles in a row and a total of 13 sectional championships.

Hembree is a 2005 Northridge graduate and helped the Raiders place third at the State Finals in 2005. He was part of their 400 freestyle relay team that finished fourth at the State Finals his senior season.

Hembree, who went on to swim at Ball State University, was the girls swim coach at Elkhart Central for two years before returning to his alma mater to coach under Keller. Hembree teaches at Northridge.
