LIGONIER – Wawasee left the tying run on third in the seventh in a 6-5 loss at West Noble.
Trailing by two runs going into the seventh, Jacob Garcia walked and Jairus Boyer singled. Garcia would come in to score on Rhett Coblentz’s RBI single, Boyer moving up to third. The tying run, however, was stuck on third as West Noble got a flyout to end the contest.
Wawasee left six runners in scoring position in the game, three of them on third and one trying to score on a stolen base at home.
Gavin Barker had two hits and two RBIs for the Warriors.
Jorge Villanueva doubled, homered and reached base four times, driving in four to lead the Chargers.
Levi Brown was the hard luck loser, working three innings and giving up five runs, but all were unearned.
Wawasee (9-13) will host Goshen Monday.
