FORT WAYNE – Fort Wayne Concordia manufactured a run in the fifth that made the difference in a 4-3 win over visiting Wawasee Saturday afternoon in Fort Wayne.
David Kratzman led off the bottom of the fifth with a single, then moved around on a wild pitch and tag up before coming home on a sacrifice fly by Trevin Moss to give the Cadets the lead.
Wawasee plated a run in the second on a Jairus Boyer RBI and used three straight walks to open the fourth inning to get a pair of runs that tied the game at three.
Cayden Wegener took the tough loss, allowing three earned in six innings, allowing just three hits and two walks.
Wawasee drops to 8-9 overall and will get back into Northern Lakes Conference play Monday against NorthWood.
