SYRACUSE — Another group of Wawasee High School students who have excelled academically during their high school years are now part of the school’s Academic Hall of Fame. A group of 42 senior students, or roughly 18 percent of this year’s graduating class, were honored during the Academic Hall of Fame Banquet Thursday evening, May 4, in the high school cafeteria.

Vince Beasley, assistant principal of the high school, said those inducted into the hall of fame must have a grade point average of at least 10.0 after 11 trimesters (Wawasee utilizes the trimester system). He said a 10.0 GPA is the equivalent of at least an A-minus. The guidance department chooses those who qualify for the hall of fame.

Beasley also encouraged the students to return to the local area after college. “We need bright, young minds to go to work here,” he said.
