The Lady Wildcat tennis team lost a hard-fought match Thursday night against conference foe Wabash.

Delaney Keirn stepped up at one singles in the absence of sister Morgan and fell just short, losing a tough three-set match 6-4, 3-6, 5-10.

The junior varsity also fell to the Apaches, losing 4-1. Claiming victory for the Wildcats was Kayla Schipper, winning at two singles 8-6.

The Wildcats are back in action Saturday at the Wabash Invitational starting at 10 a.m.

Track and Field

The Whitko girls track team defeated Lakeland Christian Academy and Wabash. Whitko scored 54 points to top Wabash’s 50 and LCA’s 41.

The Whitko boys track team won with a team total of 97 points, topping Wabash’s 44 and LCA’s 11.
