Don “Andy” Goodson, 78, Columbia City, passed away at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home.

Born Dec. 20, 1938 in Owensville, he was the son of James A. and Esther M.  (Mounts) Goodson.

He graduated from Anderson High School with the Class of 1957 and went on to study at Purdue University for two years before serving in the U.S. Air Force. Andy earned his associate degree from International Business College, Ft. Wayne.  On May 7, 1966, he married Marjorie S. Lehman in Ft. Wayne.  They lived in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc. for 17 years before moving to Columbia City in 1985. Andy worked as a Commercial Accountant Manager for Dimension Ford and retired in 2007.  He was a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 82, Ft. Wayne, Columbia City VFW and was a committed Big Brother as well as a past president of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Wood County, Wisc.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Margie Goodson; daughter, Sarah Goodson, of Fort Wayne; son, James Goodson, of South Bend; grandchildren, Drew Goodson and Leo Goodson; and brother, Michael (Margo) Goodson, of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 28 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor David Arnold officiating.  Memorial gifts may be given in his memory to Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
