Virginia J. Lucht, 90, Warsaw, and formerly of Mentone, passed at 1:21 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw. She had resided at Millers Merry Manor of Warsaw for the last year and a half.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1926 in Blue Island, Ill. to John and May (Cheney) Bowerman.

She married on June 8, 1946 in Dolton, Ill. to Harold E. Lucht, he preceded on Feb. 6, 2000.

Virginia was a homemaker.

She had been a resident of Mentone since 1960 moving from Irving, Texas. She had in years past been a member of the Mentone United Methodist Church where she was active in card ministry. She was a member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society, Bell Aircraft Museum, and the Sons and Daughters of Newbury, Mass.

She is survived by her son, H. Alan (Jennifer) Lucht, Warsaw; her son-in-law, Jay Engle, Warsaw; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Joy Engle; a great grandchild, Griffin Lucht; a brother, Lloyd Bowerman; and an infant sister, Bertha Jean.

A time of visitation is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at King Memorial Home, Mentone. The funeral will follow at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 21. Pastor Jeff Pfeifer is officiating. Burial will take place at Mentone Cemetery.
