Baseball

The Valley baseball team was back in action Monday night. The Vikings rallied to beat Pioneer 6-3 in Three Rivers Conference action.

Valley trailed 3-0 but would score all six of its runs over the final four innings to seal the victory. Getting the win on the mound for the Vikes was Lucas Walters, who went seven innings and recorded an impressive 10 strikeouts.

Alec Craig, Hunter Early and Adam Myers all had multiple hits in the contest. Valley had 10 hits as a team to Pioneer’s five.

Valley is now 2-1 on the year and 1-0 in TRC play.

Softball

The Valley softball team scored in five of its seven innings Monday night to help top Culver 13-7. Valley scored two in the top of the first, one in the third, three each in the fourth and fifth innings and four more in the seventh to pick up its fourth win of the season.

Sydney Howard, Abby Betten, Kayla Scott and Alexa Gomez all had two hits for the Vikings while Kirstyn Yoder led the team with three hits. Scott and Yoder each had a pair of RBIs while Betten led the team with three.

Valley improves to 4-3 on the season.

Golf

The Tippecanoe Valley boy’s golf team played its best round of the young season to date, and picked up a win against Knox at Mystic Hills Golf Club Monday evening. Valley shot a 180 as a team to top Knox’s 218.

The match medalist was Jeremy Julian who tallied a round of 40 which included three birdies. Cade Brouyette (41), Chris Schipper (48), John Young (51) and Bryce Madeford (63) rounded out the varsity lineup for the Vikings.

Valley now sits at 1-2 on the season and travels to the Peru Municipal Golf Course on Thursday to take on North Miami and Caston. The junior varsity squad is now 2-1 on the season following its 208 performance on Monday.
