SYRACUSE — The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce will be once again cleaning up SR 13 from Ace Hardware to the railroad tracks.  Volunteers interested in helping cleanup our town are asked to contact the chamber by calling (574) 457-5637 to sign up.  Cleaning up will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 21 and will be meeting in the Medstat parking lot.  The chamber asks that businesses located on SR 13 help clean up by sending out an employee for 5-10 minutes to clean up in front of their location.

Other community organizations and groups will also be helping clean up our community this week and weekend as well.  On Wednesday, April 19 the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation will be cleaning up the WACF Education Center property starting at 9 a.m. before their big Earth Day Festival the following Saturday, though volunteers can come anytime that day.

The Syracuse-Wawasee Trails and volunteers will also be cleaning up the trails from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 21 from and will be meeting at the Syracuse Community Center. The Wawasee Kiwanis’ will be cleaning from St. Andrews Church to the railroad tracks by Beef’s Booze Barn after their morning meeting on Saturday, April 22.

“This is a great opportunity for our businesses and community members to help beautify our town before the summer season starts,” said Andrea Keller, executive director of the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce.  “We encourage everyone to help participate in some way this weekend.”

The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce is beautifully positioned in Downtown Syracuse within the Pickwick Plaza.  Our mission is to engage and advance businesses in order to enhance our community as an ideal place to live, work, shop and play.  We are proud to serve as a destination for visitors and residents to get more information on the businesses and events in the Syracuse-Wawasee area.
