CLAYPOOL — Claypool Council announced their Spring Clean Up dates at the April 17 meeting.
Spring Clean Up will happen Wednesday, May 3. Normal trash routes will be completed and then the clean up will begin. All items should be in some sort of container for disposal, be it box or bag.
Certain items, including tires, paint, televisions and household hazardous waste, will not be accepted. If you have these items, consider contacting the Kosciusko County Recycling Depot, (574) 372-3087, 220 S. Union St., Warsaw, for disposal options. For a complete list of excluded items, contact a member of the council.
The board also chose June 2-3 for the town yard sale. Notices will go out with this month’s water bill.
Chad Zartman, owner of the apartments at 110 S. Main St., Claypool, was present to seek a compromise for a parking situation. He claimed that his residents don’t have enough parking and have received tickets for parking on Main Street. The board confirmed that this would only happen during business hours, but they are allowed to park on the street after all businesses have closed.
The council suggested Zartman add more gravel along the sidewalk on Calhoun Street for an additional 5-6 spaces. Zartman was not opposed and simply said he wasn’t sure if the city would allow him to do so. The council gave their approval.
In other business:
- New drainage tiles are being placed under the railroad along Clay Street.
