PLYMOUTH — Tiffany A. Hughes, 25, and Edward J. Orr, 33, both with addresses of the 2500 block of North Michigan Street, Plymouth, were arrested Tuesday, April 11, on charges of counterfeiting.
Both are being held in the Marshall County Jail on $1,500 cash bond.
According to Plymouth Police Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus, the department received a report from Low Bob’s Express on North Michigan Street, on Monday, April 10, regarding a counterfeit $100 bill presented to purchase items on Sunday, April 9. The store employee recognized the bill to be counterfeit and kept it as the customers left.
Further investigation, after viewing the surveillance video, resulted in identification of Hughes and Orr. The investigation also revealed the two had been at Dollar General Store on North Michigan Street, a few minutes earlier and attempted to purchase items, using the counterfeit bill.
Orr took the bill from the employee at Dollar General after he was told the bill was not valid.
Both individuals were located at the Economy Inn the afternoon of April 11.
