Camille R. Weaver

Camille R. Weaver, 84, Columbia City, died at 6:58 a.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017 at The Hearth of Sycamore Village where she had been a resident since November 2016.
She was born March 3, 1933 in Oliver, Wisc. a daughter of John and Catherine (Repp) Musto. As a young girl, her family moved to Lima, Ohio where she completed her education.
In 1962 she moved to Fort Wayne and worked for International Harvester for 10 years. She also worked at Eavey’s as a professional cake decorator.
On Feb. 17, 1968 she married Herbert R. Weaver. They always made their home in the Columbia City area. Mr. Weaver died Sept. 21, 1998.
An artist, she enjoyed oil painting, continued occasional cake decorating, enjoyed gardening including vegetables, flowers, grapes and fruit trees, and canning.
She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.
Surviving relatives include four children, Shari (Gene) Thompson of Columbia City; Linda (David) Barrett of Fort Wayne; Robyn (Steve Kemp) Gerstbauer of North Webster; and John Rice of Syracuse; a step daughter, Trudy (Evan) Hall of Syracuse; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou Thomas of Stanton, Tenn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katie Rennecker; and a sister, Betty Kruger.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 South Line Street, Columbia City with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. The burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse & Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
