Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:44 p.m. Saturday, April 1, East CR 500N, east of North CR 750E, North Webster. Driver: Shawn L. Jefferson, 39, South CR 500E, Pierceton. Jefferson stated that a dog was riding in the cab of the vehicle and advised that the dog hit the steering wheel. Jefferson then jerked the steering wheel back, causing the small trailer he was pulling to swing off the road and strike a mailbox and a NIPSCO utility pole. Damages up to $2,500.
12:04 a.m. Sunday, April 2, South SR 25, west of South CR 450W, Warsaw. Driver: Ericka L. Shepherd, 23, West SR 25, Mentone. Driver struck a dog that had entered the roadway. Damages up to $2,500.
5:22 a.m. Sunday, April 2, South SR 13, north of East CR 725S, Pierceton. Driver: Zachary W. Adams, 26, West Wayne Street, Pierceton. Adams advised he fell asleep at the wheel resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a guardrail. Damages up to $10,000.
