
Beverly “Joan” Neer, 81, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Milford to Forest and Mary (Garrison) Ringler.
On Aug. 10, 1957 she married Donald E. Neer at Syracuse Church of God.
He survives along with three daughters, Angie (Stuart) Wilson, Grand Haven, Mich.; Alicia Long, Bremen; and Amber (Brad) Osswald, Arcadia; two sons, Dana (Joni) Neer, Culver; and Darren Neer, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Stewart, Deland, Florida and Wanda Neibert, South Carolina.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Personette.
A 1957 graduate of Moody Bible College, Chicago, Joan was active at Wawasee Heights Baptist Church and currently at Nappanee Missionary Church, serving in many different areas.
Joan was a part owner of Neer’s Powerwash along with her husband Don, New Paris and also worked at New Paris Elementary School, where she retired as head cook. She enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship in Goshen; entertaining and cooking; traveling; and caring for her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 23 prior to the 6 p.m. funeral service at Nappanee Missionary Church. Rev. Dave Engbrecht and her son, Dana Neer will officiate. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Hoosier Burn Camp or Riley Children’s Hospital.
