Warsaw Track: Ladies Compete At Trine

Warsaw SportsANGOLA – The Warsaw girls track team competed in its final indoor qualifying meet this past weekend for the Hoosier State Relays.

Members of coach Matt Thacker’s team took part in the last qualifier held at Trine University.

The 4 X 200 relay team of Abby Curtis, Makayla Clampitt, Kaia Hummitch, Abby Grayson, Natalia McGuire and Emma Pena qualified for the HSR State Finals this Saturday in Bloomington. The team is ranked 15th statewide with a time of 1:49.99.

The 4 X 400 relay team of Maygan Bellamy, Shunterra Davis, Kenzie Martz and Remi Beckham is ranked 11th with a time of 4:12.46. They are also a state qualifier.

The 4 X 800 relay team of Dayton Groninger, Emma Bohnenkamper, Ally Miller, Anna Craig and Mia Beckham is ranked 10th with a qualifying time of 9:56.86.

The Distance Medley Relay team of Craig, Miller, Bellamy and Mia Beckham is ranked 12th with its time of 12:59.89.

Morgan Bruner has qualified for the state meet in the high jump with a leap of 5-1.

Alexi Day has a season best effort in the high jump at Trine with a jump of 5-0. Joelle Messenger had her season best effort of 8-6 in the pole vault.

The HSR State Finals begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at Indiana University.

Warsaw is scheduled to open its outdoor season with a meet at Penn Wednesday night.
