Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, South CR 200W, Silver Lake. Driver: Brenda J. Kreis, 64, South Main Street, Claypool. Kreis was headed southbound on south CR 200W when she became distracted. She then left the roadway, struck a post and continued into an open ditch. Damage up to $10,000.

5:53 p.m. Thursday, March 16, North SR 13 and East CR 500N, North Webster. Drivers: Tesa S. Ewell, 41, West Cromwell Road, Cromwell, and Durwood D. Barron, 74, South Woodchuck Drive, Pendleton. Ewell rear-ended Barron. Damage up to $10,000.

8:53 p.m. Thursday, March 16, North SR 13, North Webster. Driver: Shannon S. Hovenden, 22, East CR 700S, Claypool. Hovenden struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500

Silver Lake

Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:

4:40 p.m. Thursday, March 16, West Main Street and South Jefferson Street, Silver lake. Driver: Gregory A. Blanton, 60, SR 25, Mentone. Blanton was at the intersection when a truck with a trailer went past. An object fell off the trailer and hit the windshield of Blanton’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
