
Joseph Halden Cook, Warsaw, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, at the age of 82.
He was born on May 9, 1934 in Warsaw, to Victor Leroy Cook and H. Ellen (Graves) Cook. He was married on June 22, 1957 to Shirley (Finton) Cook, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served until his honorable discharge in 1955. He worked as the Lead Plater for Warsaw Plating for 39 years and retired in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Post #49 in Warsaw and member of the Platers Union.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Shirley Cook, Warsaw; two sons: Joseph (wife Cheryl) Cook, Etna Green; Jeff (wife Vicki) Cook, Warsaw; and two daughters: Vicky (husband Jeff) Owens, Warsaw; Yvonne (husband Scott) Charlton, Warsaw. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Elizabeth (husband Joe) Kirkendall, Chicago, Ill.; Erin Owens, Los Angeles, Calif.; Tyler Owens, Los Angeles, Calif.; Jennifer Cook, Muncie; Brittany Cook, Muncie; Andy Cook; Jeremy McCartney, Warsaw; Alex Cook, Warsaw; the Ramblers; and two great-grandchildren: Channing Charlton, LaVern, Tenn.; Knox Kirkendall, Chicago, Ill.; Joseph leaves behind his brother: Norman (wife Muriel) Cook, Portland, Ore.; and three Sisters: Phyllis Gearhart, Akron; Karolyn (husband Ed) Barrus, Leesburg; Judy (husband Frank) Swick, Mentone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
No services are planned. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
