Dorothy Taylor, 96, Warsaw, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.

She was born Nov. 20, 1920 in Chicago to Edward and Lillian (Leady) Betzold.

On Sept. 14, 1946, she married Coleman B. Taylor who died in 2002. She had a longtime companion, James Kauffman who died in 2007. Additionally, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a granddaughter, Reesha.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (William) Mitchell and Linda (Michael) McLaughlin; one son, William C. Taylor; seven grandchildren: Melanie, Sean, Erica, Reesha, Scott, Natalie and Mason; four great grandchildren: Dean, Aden, Jaylen and Lukas.

Her grandfather, George Leady of Chicago, was the last 1871 Chicago fire hero survivor at age 94.

Dorothy’s children would like to mention their appreciation to her wonderful neighbors who have loved and helped her and to Miller’s Merry Manor for their kindness and support to her end.

Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
