
SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake man was arrested after being found in possession of meth and marijuana.
Scotty Joe Whitaker, 2512 West CR 1200S, Silver Lake, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 27, an officer responded to an overdose.
When the officer arrived, he spoke with a male who said he had seen a driver slumped over his seat in a silver Buick. The driver stated he could see a syringe in the driver’s door.
The officer approached the vehicle and saw the syringe in the driver’s door. Medical units arrived and were able to wake the male subject, who was later identified as Whitaker. The officer searched Whitaker and found a container with .4 grams of meth. Officers located a straw that contained meth residue. Officers also found a plastic bag containing 2.4 grams of marijuana.
Whitaker was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Monday, March 6 on a bond of $5,250 surety and cash.
